FACHADAS
This collection is dedicated to the facades, bars and retailers in Madrid. It focuses on the cultural diversity of the city and on the context in which facade, street and environment stand. Whether traditionally Spanish, Chinese, African or Indian, among the 3.2 million inhabitants, there are various nationalities who contribute with their shops to the international infrastructure. As one of the largest cities in Europe, if one agrees to be honest and cosmopolitan, it is expected that people from different countries come together and represent the picture of Europe. A picture, in which it does not really matter, if one is actually a local, or if one believes in faith or not, in order to be aware that in the end all people are equal. Although we are born under different circumstances, and in different social strata, with some being luckier that others, it should be normal among all people to live in peaceful coexistence and to welcome each other when entering new grounds and a new country. Madrid is one of the cities that embodies that outlook. A different as the cultural influences are in that city, which can be observed while strolling through it, in the end facades are just that - facades - proving that all foreign cultural influences belong to a city, the same as a country ´s inherent culture. The interplay is what the city is about.
